DIY Creatine Gummies - Need Help!
Hey all. Trying to make my own creatine gummies at home. Used gelatin and some berry flavor, but they came out rock hard and taste like chalk. Any tips? I'm new to this.
Are you using the right gelatin ratio? Usually for gummies it's about 1 part gelatin to 2 parts liquid. And heat it gently, not boil. Also, creatine is bitter, so you need a LOT of flavoring or use a sweetener like stevia. I stick to capsules honestly.
I tried agar once with vitamin C and they turned into rubber! Haha. But for creatine, I found that mixing it into a little juice and adding to the gelatin works. But don't add too much liquid or they won't set. Also, maybe use less creatine? It can mess with the texture.
Been there. Try using a silicone mold, that helps with the 'rock hard' issue. And for the taste, add some citric acid and sweetener. Also, let them set in the fridge overnight. But honestly, buying pre-made is easier when you're on the road like me. :p
Thanks guys. I'll try the lower heat and more flavor. Maybe I'll invest in a good mold. Also, citric acid tip is gold. I'll update if batch #2 works!
